CoQ-10 100mg + Omega-3 450mg
Main Ingredients
CoQ-10, Omega-3
How It Works
Coenzyme Q10, commonly known as ubiquinone, is a type of coenzyme found in all vertebrates and most microorganisms (hence the name ubiquinone). Coenzyme Q10, also known as ubiquinone-10, is the most common type in humans. It’s a 1,4-benzoquinone, with Q standing for quinone and 10 for the number of isoprenyl chemical subunits in its tail. Fully oxidized (ubiquinone), semiquinone (ubisemiquinone), and fully reduced(ubiquinol) the three redox states of CoQ.
This vitamin-like family of fat-soluble compounds is found in all respiring eukaryotic cells, particularly in the mitochondria. It is a member of the electron transport chain and is involved in aerobic cellular respiration, which produces ATP as a source of energy. CoQ10 concentrations are highest in organs with the highest energy demands, such as the heart, liver, and kidney.
In their molecular structure, omega-3 fatty acids are polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) containing a double bond three atoms away from the terminal methyl group. They are abundant in nature and play an important role in human nutrition and physiology as key components of animal lipid metabolism. The three types of omega-3 fatty acids that are crucial in human physiology are:- α-linolenic acid (ALA), eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). Sea algae and the fish that eat them contain DHA and EPA, while ALA is found in plants such as walnuts, edible seeds, and flaxseeds.
