Organic Spirulina
Main Ingredients
Spirulina
How It Works
Spirulina is a cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) biomass that can be eaten by humans.
Spirulina is a complete protein that contains all eight necessary amino acids, making it an excellent alternative for those who want to increase their protein intake without having to worry about the environmental impact that many other sources have.
Spirulina has a few important active ingredients, the most notable of which being phycocyanobilin, which accounts for around 1% of the spirulina. To inhibit an enzyme complex termed nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADPH) oxidase, this chemical mimics the body’s bilirubin. Spirulina has powerful antioxidative and anti-inflammatory properties because it inhibits NADPH oxidase.
Other components, such as sulfated polysaccharides and linolenic acid appear to be important in improving human bodily processes.
